Hey 09, congrats on the best HOMECOMING EVER!!

We just want to say how proud we are of all of you for your dedication and spirit this past Homecoming. We won FIRST in dress up days and had our best rally ever. Our float looked AMAZING, and it would not have been possible without everyone's combined efforts. Thank you for all your hard work, and more importantly, we hope you had an unforgettable Homecoming!

WELCOME TO JUNIOR YEAR!!! :) Since we all have bundles of keys and keychains to display, be sure to get a 2009 LANYARD!!! Order forms are on school loop. Preorders will be accepted until FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 14 for $3.

You can also pick up an order form from/drop one off with any 09 officer at lunch on Sept. 6 - 14 in the RALLY COURT. Lanyards can also be purchased after they arrive for $4. We will only be ordering a limited amount of extras, so preorder to ensure you get one (for cheaper, too!!).

Do you want to plant flowers and make $1000 for 09? Come FRIDAY 4/27 after school to the Academic Court!

UPDATE 4/29:A huge thank you to all of you who came to help plant flowers in the Academic Court 4/27 (Illiana, Sangita, Daniel S, Teresa, Vibhor, and Annie W!) and 3/16 after school. Now you all know how delicious a dirt cup is. :) We hope you had fun!

Help out with our MRS Gold Project! This year for our MRS campus beautification project, we will be planting gorgeous flowers in one of the large planters in the Academic Court. We have a few beautiful plants already chosen, but if you have more ideas please let us know.

The dates are:
FRIDAYS 3/16, 4/27
3:00pm-5:15pm

All participants will get to make their own delicious DIRT CUP (chocolate pudding, oreos, and gummy worms) as a treat for helping out!

You are encouraged to bring gardening gloves, friends, and lots of positive energy.

Pho fundraiser ended 4/10. We made $292.30!

Eat Pho!

Who: EVERY HUMAN BEING. That includes you, but not your dog.

What: Eat yummy Pho (that's beef noodle soup!) and make dough for 09.

When: Flyer effective from 3/27 until 4/10. Fundraiser Kick off Party is 3/27 from 5-8pm!

Where: Pho Hoa, 1089 S De Anza Blvd, San Jose, CA

Why: As if there are no obvious reasons.

Great job to all of the classes, and special congrats to the Senior Class of 07! In addition, 09 won the Picasso Award for the most artistic float, and we got 3rd in floats overall! Our float looked amazing, and is truly a testament of the teamwork, spirit, and unity of our class. Great job, 09!!

Hope everyone had a memorable Homecoming 2006, and keep the spirit going throughout the year.

Supplies - Pick up

Thanks to those of you who lent supplies for floatbuilding! Please come to the Student Parking lot or Jess Hsu's house (10480 N Foothill Blvd) to pick up your supplies if you still want them. T-shirts - ORDERING MORE!

Since a lot of people wanted T-shirts this year, we have sold out completely.. There are still Gold Card holders who have not picked up their shirt! The last day was Tuesday 10/17, but due to high demand we will be ordering more shirts with the Junior class to split shipping costs.

SO, if you want a shirt, follow these steps!

1. Email montavista09@yahoo.com with your name and shirt size by WED. October 25.
2. Bring $10 to a class officer, or be prepared to pay during distribution
3. Stay tuned for information about when distribution will be.

As of now, T-shirts are estimated to arrive in 3 weeks. We will keep you posted with the latest information, so check back periodically. Thanks for your patience!

Float House Clean up PARTAY 10/22

Come to Jess Hsu's house 10480 N. Foothill Blvd. this Sunday 10/22 (after Homecoming) from 9:00am-1:00pm for the Float House Clean Up Party! Everyone is invited, so bring your friends and come clean up while having fun. There will be lots of food and treats. See you there!

NOTE: The address on the Rally Cheer flyer is INCORRECT. The correct number is 10480 N Foothill Blvd, not 21840. Continue on McClellan, turn right onto Foothill, and go for about 1 MILE and turn RIGHT on VISTA KNOLL RD. 10480 is on the Right.

FAQ's
Who can come to class congress?
ANYONE from 09, not just Leadership or officers!

What is it?
It's a meeting for people to share their ideas and opinions about various topics involving our class, including Homecoming float design, class T-shirt design, and policy proposals that will be voted on at Leadership Council.

Why should I go?
It's an effective way to let your officers and fellow 09ers know how you feel about certain topics, and contribute your great ideas to benefit the whole class. Keep in mind that the officers will try to get your opinions on issues they may be voting on in Leadership Council the following day, so get your voice heard!

When is it?
Every FIRST Monday of the month during lunch. Mark your calendars for October 2!

Where is it?
It will be in Mrs. Gahagan's room, B209.

How many people can go?
There is no set limit, and definitely the more people the better! Try to get there early because we may need to close the doors due to space issues.

09 T-shirt/Sweatshirt Designs

Do you have a great idea for our class t-shirt/sweatshirt design? Pick up a form from ASB, get you creative juices flowing, and send those designs in! Turn in your T-shirt designs to the 09 box (on the left hand wall when entering ASB) by Sept. 15 to share your ideas. Thanks!

Q: Does the class T-shirt have to be black, like our class color?
A: No. The T-shirt can be any color, although black class shirts could be worn to rallies to represent the class color.

Q: Does the class shirt have to reflect the Homecoming theme, the Grinch?
A: No, it does not have to reflect the HC theme. Any creative ideas are welcome!

Q: Will we get to personalize our class sweatshirts this year?
A: Based on the enthusiasm we are receiving from this, we are definitely looking into personalized sweats this year. Also, any other ideas about the class sweats, including color, design, etc. are more than welcome! Just talk to an officer or email us at montavista09@yahoo.com.
